Attack of the shabby tabby
We had a little kitty trouble at the house last night.
Lacey decided to sneak outside when I went out around 8:30 pm.
I thought after the last time she accidentally got locked out of the house overnight(and ended up
spending the night up under the pickup truck)
she would stop sneaking out, but the temptation to walk on the wild side
apparently is more that she can stand.
I was very busy last night, finishing up work in the dining room, moving
furniture around, etc. etc. and I didn't notice that Lacey wasn't around.
Around 11:30 I got up from the sofa to go to bed and we start hearing
this massive cat fight on our deck. After about 10 seconds, I realize that Lacey
hasn't been around most of the evening. Erik and I ran to the door and
sure enough, there was Lacey- running back off the deck and down the sidewalk.
Whatever jumped her had taken off, and Lacey was mostly unharmed, but she was
plenty freaked out. She is favoring one leg a bit, but there isn't any open
cuts or anything. I think she just had a run in with out of the shabby tabbys
that have set up camp in this area. Hopefully Lacey now realizes that she is only a bad-ass
killer kitty in her dreams and she needs to stay in the house. All those years
of teasing Nick the 70lb german shepherd must have given her illusions of grandure.
