We are experiencing what Erik and I like to call “hot” heat here in Missouri. The temp was 99 today with a heat index of 113 of some such other highly obnoxious number.
Luckily (??) I got paged into work at 4am, which did require a trip into the office. I got home around 6am, and it was reasonably cool, so I decided to do some gardening that I had been putting off because of the heat. I wish someone could explain to me why the weeds continue to flourish in this heat, when the lawn is about dead, and I have to water my potted flowers twice a day just to keep them alive.

It looks like I’m making ‘hunter’s chicken’ for dinner tonight. I looked up some low sodium, low fat recipes on the web, and found quite a few chicken recipes. We tried something called Arroz Chicken last week- It was really good, and I made it again last night.

Post dinner update- well the Hunter's chicken wasn't bad, but not as good as the Arroz Chicken.
Jorgie and I are getting stir crazy so we are going out for ice cream...I guess its a good thing that dinner was low fat!
