I started on a serious, kick in the butt, do this for the rest of your life type of diet a couple of weeks ago. So far, things are going ok, but of course, there is no magical loss of 10 lbs or something, so after 2 weeks it gets kind of old.
I am keeping a food log, and was turned on to fitday, which works really well. I've found that in the evening, after my exercising, if I'm thinking about eating, I log back into fitday and update my schtuff, and that gives me incentive to carry on. The good part is that I've gotten used to eating a heck of a lot less food, and I've found some excellent recipes for low fat-low cal foods.
Thursday nite Jess and I had a great ride on the Katy trail. We just rode to the end of the road and jumped on the trail near Cooper's. We rode down to this spot that has a Lewis and Clark memorial thingie. It was a beautiful evening, although it was mega humid. We were the only souls out and about, and that was pretty neat. I also got to ride Jorgies bike for an extended period of time. I decided that I liked it. Jess got to try it out as well, and she liked it alot. It is definitely the ticket for riding on reasonably level surfaces.
Liz and Kurt had to go out of town, so we got to babysit Emily the black lab last night and most of today. It was fun to have a dog around again. She is nothing but a big old goof. She slept on the floor next to the bed last night, and snored like a longshoreman...it was cool.
We also got to check out the new kittens. The Wallace's cat had 3 premie kittens. I didn't think they would live- 2 weeks ago they were about the size and shape of a 1/2 hotdog. This week, they are about the size of a regular newborn kitten. Their eyes are open, but they don't really focus, and they sort of stumble around....they pretty much look and act like they are filthy drunk. Jess was enamored of the kittens, so we did lots of kitty checks last nite and today.
