Red sky at morning sailor take warning...
Those were my first thoughts this morning around 7am and Buster and Petey and I headed out for a morning stroll. I guess since I grew up in Michigan, a state surrounded by big water and with small lakes every few miles the nautical references are just something I grew up with. In this case, its probably true, before the end of the day we are likely to see snow and maybe more freezing rain.
Personally, I wouldn't mind taking a pass on the whole storm thing, but if we get anything hopefully it will just be snow.
Most things our our way are still covered with a thick blanket of ice, although the warmer air and sun yesterday did help a bit.
I'm still having to wear my 'screwy' shoes to walk the dogs. I took an old pair of New Balance and ran some screws through them from the inside. They work remarkably well and in fact, a few days ago the dog was falling right and left and I didn't go down even once.

The new dog. We picked up Petey, the mini daschund last night. I was pretty crazy around here last night because Petey is pretty much the energizer bunny on steriods. Buster handled it pretty well, and let Petey know that he was boss-dog and we are doing ok this morning. Petey is still learning the whole potty training thing...that is interesting, but we are working through it and he did have a couple accidents last night but has been figuring out that the great outdoors is in potty room and he did fine this morning.
This morning we had dog rodeo in the living room...both dogs constantly running and running. I finally had to separate them to get them both to chill for awhile. In a few I'm going to 'release the hounds' and see what happens...probably more rodeo action.

Jorgie and I are going to go shopping for a new television later. Our 27 inch Magnavox that we bought a year or so after moving into our house (in 1995) has finally given up the ghost. We are looking at (gasp) a 42 or 36 inch LCD. Neither will fit into our really nice pine armoire...Jorgie thinks he can Junk Brother the armoire- which will be cool- I don't want to lose it- its a one of my favorite pieces of furniture.
