Thank goodness for 'hunter' orange.
Buster and I had just barely gotten past Liz and Kurt's house this morning, headed back for our usual early morning hike when I spied a spot of blaze orange up in a tree....then we turned around and more orange back down in the woods. We took our walk back on our property and well away from the woods. For our long walk we went out to Terri's farm. Buster hadn't been there before and had a wonderful time. The horses kind of freaked him out. He barked at them, but then went up and touched noses with a couple of them and wound up with horse slobber on his head. We had a good walk back through the fields...in some places the grass was so long that Buster with his little bitty legs was pretting much swimming through the grass. It think it worked to wear him out because he was happy when we got back to the car.
In the afternoon when we went out for a short potty walk a deer ran across the back of our property, and seconds later I heard guns blasting from the neighbor's property. That was my cue to head back to the house. Kurt was outside as well and pointed at his orange hat and yelled at me- buy one of these! Walmart- 98 cents. I took the hint and we went to Walmart after going to see 'Stranger than Fiction'. No hats, but Erik has a big chunk of orange fleecy fabric, so I made my own hat. I'll be wearing that sucker whenever I'm outside around the house until deer season ends.
