Jorgie and I started the entry way tile project. We had a couple of blips already.

First, we didn’t have enough tile to complete the whole project. We decided that we could buy another color of tile and work in a pattern. I figured out the pattern, based on looking at some tile design websites, then the next night after work it was off to Lowes.

I saw a very cool tile I liked…it was Dolphin blue. I also saw a cobalt blue tile, and it ended up being about half the price of the dolphin blue, so I bought it.

I got the tile home and dry-laid the pattern. At first I was all “wow, its very cool- the blue really pops out”. Then I wasn’t so sure. Jorgie got home…we discussed and decided the cobalt was nice but popped just a bit too much and wouldn’t fit with the overall scheme 9ha! We have a scheme!) of our house. I packed the tile back up and the next day Jorgie and I went back to Lowes over lunch. I showed him the dolphin blue and we decided it was worth the extra money. Once this tile goes down it isn’t getting replaced in my lifetime, so we decided to do it right.

So far we have about 3 rows of tile laid (about a ¼ of the way done) and tonight we should get some more done. That’s one good thing about the 100+ degree days, we can get some work done inside. I’m sure not getting anything done outside unless it involves running the hose.

We have a yucky stomach nastiness running around the office. Of course I got it. Today I’m back to work. As long as I don’t really eat anything I’m fine, so I guess it’s a dieting bug.
