Jorgie and Jules and I braved the Osage river on Saturday. It was alot of fun.
I have no idea how far we traveled. My Missouri Paddler's guide doesn't include the Osage river. I guess it isn't considered a big paddling river because there are so many power boats on the river.
We weren't really bothered by them, but you do have to keep an eye out.
We paddled up stream from the Mari-Osa access until we reached a spillway/dam/lock type of thing. The current was lots of fun around the spillway. We floated back down and then Jules and I explored a little tributary which was cool. On the way home we stopped at the Moreau river access off of Hwy 54...it looks like a better place to paddle than the Osage so that is on the list of new places to try.
The Mad River Synergy paddled like a dream. Jules is dying to get on the Niangua, so it looks like that will be our next adventure.
