Well, Petey can do the High Ridge trail loop (2.3 miles of hill and dale) at Rockbridge without incident. We made the hike this morning...the first time for Petey, and Buster and I back on that trail after a 2 month hiatus, due to bad weather, ice, etc.
We had been confining our walks to the local woods and Bethel Park, but its nice to be back to our regular route. The dogs woke up early and after a short walk and breakfast, Buster pretty much insisted that we get going. We got to RB around 7:15am. I guess that won't be the case tomorrow, since we Spring Ahead. It will be nice to have the extra daylight after work, but I'm worried that it will be too dark in the morning to walk the dogs at the normal time (6:45am) I guess we will see tomorrow morning.
Today Jorgie and ran a strip of lattice around the bottom of the deck so when we have the yard fenced Petey won't be able to climb up under the deck. We only had to do one side, and it was easier than I thought, and it looks really good. There is still one spot where Petey could slip under the deck if he really worked at it, so I'll fit some patio stones into that area.
We are hoping, hoping, hoping that the fencing work will be done this week.
When we were at Lowes getting the lattice, we went and looked at outdoor dining chairs. We had gotten rid of the old plastic chairs last Fall be putting them out by the road in front of our house with a 'free chairs' sign. They lasted all of about 10 minutes. Anyway, we had seen some pretty decent wrought iron chairs at SAMs last week. Lowes had about the same chairs that SAMs had, only a few bucks more, so we walked next door to SAMs, and got them there.
On the way home we ran by Jasper's to pick up our brad nailer that he had borrowed, He liked the chairs as well, so later in the day we went and picked up 4 chairs for him and took them to his house. He has a little bitty car and couldn't get them himself.
If the weather stays nice enough, I should be able to use my noxious chemicals to finish getting the glue up off the floor in the entry way so we can finally get the ceramic tile done. I had planned to have most of the job done back on MLK holiday weekend...that turned out to be the weekend of the big storm...I did get most of the old flooring up that weekend, but that was about it and I couldn't use the chemicals to finish stripping the glue off the floor because we will have to have windows and doors open.
I'm also looking forward to getting the living room carpet replaced sometime soon...it does seem to the be the task that keeps getting pushed down on the list, but since we are still potty training Petey, and his favorite accident site is the living room carpet, we will need to get this project pushed up on the list.
Not much else going on here in the big "C"
