Woo-hoo- it’s 29.9 degrees!
Buster and Petey and I just got back from a walk at Bethel Park. I decided that was our best bet, given the still icy and cold conditions. It actually wasn’t too bad there but I did have to waer my ice cleats for the first half of the walk. Petey did fine, kept up the whole way and we walked for almost an hour.
I did see something at the park that I don’t think I’ve ever seen in Columbia before- ice-fishing. We used to go ice fishing fairly often in Michigan, and also went out ice skating, hiking etc. in the winter. There were about 10 people out on the ice, and I walked the dogs a little ways out on the ice. Walking on a frozen lake is something I haven’t done for a long time and it was pretty cool. Buster thought it was fun and Petey thought that barking at the fisherman was fun, so I guess we all had a good time.
Just in the time that I typed this the temperature has gone up to 30.1 degrees. It wasn’t supposed to go above 27 or so today, so I’m happy. Tomorrow is supposed to be close to 40 degrees, but then snow and maybe more ice on Sunday night and into Monday. I hope we don’t get too much frozen stuff, we still have enough ice as it is.
Petey has a new nickname----the Cabbage Ass Kid. I don't know what he ate but ....yeah...his ass is emitting cabbage odors.....NICE!
